Today’s Daily Featured Video is Cindy Jo! This was from Mother’s Day and that cute little baby sure is lucky to have a Momma who can sing like a bird! ? Happy Tuesday, QK Fam!!

How old are you?

I am 32 years YOUNG.

Where are you from?

I am from Minnesnowta ;)

What is your musical background?

I grew up in a family of singers! My brother toured for a few years, and my mom sang at church and for weddings. My two other siblings LOVE karaoke and started bringing me when I was 12! Don’t worry it was at a bowling alley. I entered my first county fair talent contest at 12 as well and competed every year in the county and state fair talent context for 16 years! In 2015 I auditioned for American Idol, getting some great exposure, training and experience and started my own band Cindy-Jo and Dirt Road Dixie. The last year has been a little different as I became a mom. I played with my band until August, 8 months pregnant, we’ve had one snow on NYE since and this fun page has been a huge pick me up from missing the stage and performing.

What do you do for work?

I have been a teacher for the past 12 years and am currently home with my awesome daughter Lake.

Who is your biggest musical inspiration?

Oofta….that’s a loaded question and I could type a VERY long answer, but… I was raised with an amazing mom who sang every nursery rhyme and hymn so beautifully and flawlessly! She always believed in me, and always will! From my 6 year old self in tight black wranglers and cowgirl boots singing Reba, to my love of the Dixie Chicks, my first talent show to my American Idol audition she was there cheering me on every step of the way! When I wanted to run in fear, she stopped me like a brick wall! I will never be able to harmonize as flawless as her, but she is truly inspiring and the most amazing and talented mom on the planet!

I also love to hunt and fish, I worked taxidermy for some years, and I wouldn’t trade my country way of livin for anything!

God is great, I don’t drink beer and this quarantine is driving me crazy… wait that’s kinda like a song lol …. bad mom joke
